Mmakola Matsimela Incorporated is a firm of attorneys based in Bendor Park, Polokwane and Lonehill Office Park, Lonehill, Sandton, Johannesburg offering tailor made legal solutions. Our firm is established by young black professionals from poorly disadvantaged rural areas. We are level 1 B-BBEE Status qualifying for an Exempted Micro Enterprise (“EME”).
We attend to litigation matters in the Magistrate's Court and Higher Courts of the Republic of South Africa in the Northern Provinces (Limpopo, Gauteng, Mpumalanga & North West). Meet our team of experts
Thukwe Solly Mmakola (“Mr Mmakola”) is the director and the Co – founder of Mmakola Matsimela incorporated. The Firm was founded in the year 2017. Mr Mmakola was admitted as the attorney of the High Court of South Africa on the 18th day of August 2011 in the North Gauteng High Court, Pretoria. Consequently, Mr Mmakola accounts to 12 years past admission experience.
Mr Mmakola is fortunate to have handled matters involving government & municipal entities, i.e., Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, Johannesburg Road Agency, Auditor General South Africa, University of Limpopo, Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality and Independent Development Trust just to name a few.
Therefore, he attained sufficient experience in the corporate litigation, i.e., Commercial contracts, Initiating and defending commercial disputes, i.e., building contracts, drafting and review of Service Level Agreements and review of Municipal by-laws.
Furthermore, he has experience in the Civil Litigation, Prosecuting and defending of Civil Claims, i.e., Motor Vehicle Accident and Claims for delictual damages. Lastly, he serves as chairperson and prosecutor on Labour Law Disputes for municipal entities and private clients.
Mr Mmakola is involved in the affairs of the attorney’s profession, serving as the Chairperson of the Polokwane Legal Practice Association, Independent Lawyers Association – Limpopo Province and Executive Member of the Limpopo Legal Practitioner’s Association, i.e., an independent provincial structure of the Law Society of South Africa.
Mr Mmakola serves in various boards, i.e., Legal Practice Council – Limpopo Province Limpopo Liquor Appeal Tribunal Appointed by the Honourable MEC, Limpopo Economic Development Environment and Tourism Rodgers Monama.

Mr Matsimela is also the director and Co – founder of Mmakola Matsimela Inc. He completed his Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) at University of Limpopo in 2012. He enrolled for a Practical Legal Training course as required by the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA)in 2013. He served his articles of clerkship with Henstock van den Heever Attorneys in Polokwane until his admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa on 28 January 2015. He possesses a right of appearance in the higher court as per the then Right of Appearance Act, 1995. He is currently pursuing his Master of Laws degree (LLM) with the University of Limpopo.
His area of expertise is amongst others, local governance law, law contracts, labour law, family law, construction and insurance law. Mr Matsimela practices in both lower and higher courts of the Republic of South Africa.
He participates in organisational structures of the profession and currently holds the following positions:

Kau Nkgaphe Daniel, obtained LLB from the University of Limpopo, a well-organized, creative and responsible candidate attorney who operates with high level of integrity and friendliness to make it easier to work and relate well with clients and colleagues.

Mr Kabelo Given Thobakgale joined Mmakola Matsimela Inc on the 1st of November 2023 as a Candidate Attorney. He holds Bachelor of Law degree (LLB) from North West University which was obtained in 2021, and completed Practical Legal Training in 2023 through Unisa Distance Learning School for Legal Practice.
Mr Noko Francis Khutšo Phihlela holds a Degree in Media Studies from the University of Limpopo (2014). He further holds a LLB degree from the University of South Africa ( 2021). Attended PLT in Polokwane from August 2022 to December 2022. Started serving article with Mmakola Matsimela Inc in February 2023. Treats his work with utmost professionalism and integrity.

Tebogo Reinet Mmakola is the Candidate Legal Practitioner based in our Lonehill , Sandton offices, Gauteng Province. She holds Diploma in Law and LLB degree from the University of South Africa. She has been with this law firm from 2020 until to date.
She’s passionate about helping clients overcome challenges when facing a divorce and spends her days working hard to help all parties reach a sufficient and reasonable settlements.
She prides herself as a legal professional consistently able to take initiative and persevere in routine complex cases. She’s analytical in approaching legal questions and developing solid solutions based on precedents.
Ms Mmakola will soon be admitted as the Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, in the High Court of South Africa, South Gauteng Division, Johannesburg on the 15th day of March 2024.
Hebert Makua obtained his LLB degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2017, and a PGDip in Labour Law in 2018 at the same institution. He was a member of the UJ Community Engagement, an organisation of the University aiming at assisting previously disadvantaged and the vulnerable.
To apply his theoretical legal knowledge to practice, he served as a member of the University of Johannesburg Law Clinic in his final year, providing free legal aid to indigent individuals. Hebert commenced his candidate attorney articles with Mmakola Matsimela Inc in 2022 and he has interest in third party claims, Employment Law, and civil litigation. he is also open-minded to other practice areas and is enthusiastic about learning and growing as a legal practitioner.
